So still in 2020 google is using PageRank as one of the important signals to rank website in its search engine. This is confirmed by Google’s John Mueller when one of the user Leonie Mann from England asked it on twitter.
Yes, we do use PageRank internally, among many, many other signals. It's not quite the same as the original paper, there are lots of quirks (eg, disavowed links, ignored links, etc.), and, again, we use a lot of other signals that can be much stronger.

When Sayan dutta from India asked regarding Domain authority then John Mueller confirmed that they don’t use domain authority at all in their search algorithm.
Also check Google will now use html title tag 87 % of the time

But I think domain authority is a good signal as we don’t have any other parameter to measure site authority or trust factor externally.
So definitely our focus should be on to get quality links.
